How it all started...
Meet Our Founder/President,
Chelsea McKamey
Chelsea's love for rare herding dogs started when she joined the Belgian Laekenois, long coat Dutch, and rough coat Dutch Shepherd communities. Her determination to positively contribute to these breeds followed her through numerous conformation and sporting accomplishments. In connecting with other enthusiasts about preserving rare breeds, she discovered a number of other relatively uncommon herders, one of them being the Bouvier des Ardennes. Her first Ardennes, Ansem, became the first UKC titled BdA in the US.

At the time, the breed was not observed by any US-based entity other than UKC. In an effort to remedy this, Chelsea coordinated with Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, Wisdom Panel, and the American Kennel Club to establish systems that would allow future Bouvier des Ardennes to participate in more competitive events and health testing. Finally, the BdA Club of America was established to continue promoting the breed in an official capacity.

We hope to continue this trajectory of firsts by including other passionate enthusiasts in our journey to grow this lovely breed in the most productive way possible. We hope to nurture standards that maintain the support of our BdA friends across Europe.

Ready to Join?
We appreciate how much interest we've generated in such a short period of time. Without curious enthusiasts, we couldn't grow and achieve our goals for the breed. Currently, our primary focus for the club is to communicate regularly with members regarding education about the breed, breed news worldwide, highlighting member accomplishments, American Kennel Club updates, upcoming litters, moderate ethical breeding in the US, and of course, upcoming events/shows. Short term goals consist of boosting member numbers, hosting events, and attaining AKC + UKC recognition as the breed's national parent club.

If you'd like to become a member, feel free to fill out our form and email to us along with PayPal payment for whichever membership type you are applying for. You don't have to own a BdA - we understand our US numbers are less than the amount of interested enthusiasts!
