Winter Season Show Appearances

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We're so incredibly happy to have met so many rare breed enthusiasts this season. The BDA showed in their first ever AKC conformation event at Perry, GA's Winter Wonderland cluster. Thank you to Judges Yves Belmont and Carolyn Herbal for putting hands on these guys and being so welcoming to us in our first FSS Open show. Thank you to other breed exhibitor friends who handled the Ardennes in the ring. Big congrats to the Japanese Akita for winning Best in Open!

Vincent Valentine La Cense Du Balmelok (aka Ansem), awarded Best in FSS. Rumi La Cense Du Balmelok, awarded Best of Opposite in breed. Both of these dogs produced by Quentin Henry (La Cense Du Balmelok, Belgium) and owned by Chelsea McKamey (Tessellate Herders, GA, US)

Ansem earned his BCAT with Time to Fly Coursing in Perry, GA that same weekend! First Bouvier des Ardennes in the US to earn a UKC Champion, AKC Herding Instinct, and AKC BCAT.

Ruf Nek La Cense Du Balmelok running FastCAT with Time to Fly Coursing in Perry, GA. He achieved his BCAT in Newnan to wrap up December 2024 with Speed Dogs Coursing.

We would also like to thank our friends in Belgian Laekenois who handled some Ardennes for the FSS Open show at AKC's National Championship in Orlando, FL. Our friends with the American Dutch Shepherd Association hosted a phenomenal open show. LOTS of rare breeds were present and it was really nice to see such a big turn-out. We were happy to meet so many who were interested in the BDA, to include a handful of Bouvier des Flanders enthusiasts. On day one of Rally Novice, Judge Marina Pavlovsky awarded the BDA Second Place with a score of 98/100. Big congrats to the Border Collie who took First Place! This was the first time ever that the BDA competed in AKC Rally. Judge Pavlovsky was so incredibly pleasant and encouraging to every handler - we appreciate her being the first to judge this breed in AKC Rally.

Ansem worked hard for his 2 out of 3 legs for his Rally Novice. Stay tuned for his final leg to title end of this month.

Last but not least, tremendous thank you to everyone who subscribed to the blog and submitted membership apps. We will process them shortly and personally thank everyone who showed their support recently. We can't wait to see everyone next show.

Happy New Year!
